THE HISTORY OF US
WHAT IS IN A NAME? THAT WHICH WE CALL A ROSE, BY ANY OTHER NAME WOULD SMELL AS SWEET.
As Juliet so eloquently states in Shakespeare's famous play Romeo and Juliet, "What is in a name?" It is of no real consequence that we should have this title, it is just so. However, as the owner of Duia and Jean, I do feel uniquely attached to our lyrical name.
As many of you may not know me, I am Aimee' Murrah the owner and resident florist of Duia and Jean, Florals and Events. My greatest passion in life has been a true love for botanical arts and all things florals. I credit the inspiration for this passion to my maternal grandmother, Jean. She was a prolific porcelain artist, as her mother Duia was before her. She created the most intricate designs, using vibrant hues of every shade. I grew up watching her paint delicate blooms on her crisp white porcelain vessels and would dream of the day when I could create my own sophisticated floral designs.
I truly believe these women have forged my destiny by providing a knowledge of decorative arts and a tradition of love for all things that grow. This tradition has been passed down through generations of women in my family and has inspired our company's philosophy of design and of course our name!
